Nest Blockage removal

Jackdaws, squirrels and starlings like to nest in chimneys. If you notice twigs or other unusual debris in the grate/ appliance, its important to have the chimney checked before further use.

At worst, a blockage can be lethal because of the emission of carbon monoxide. The chimney of an open fire or stove may become blocked, resulting in smoke entering the room or even a chimney fire.

Camera Inspection

Camera inspections are advised on chimneys and flues where the burning history is unknown, when you move into a new property for instance. We also recommend periodic camera inspections to check for creosote build up and potential degradation of the chimney/flue liner.

Carbon Monoxide Alarms

We can supply and fit carbon monoxide alarms and spares are always carried on the van. The presence of an appropriately fixed alarm has to be confirmed on the insurance certificate as it is building regulation.

Chimney Sweeping

A clean chimney is essential to the continuing efficient and safe operation of all solid fuel heating and cooking appliances. A regular sweep ensures any deposits or debris are removed, drastically reducing the risk of chimney fire and carbon monoxide poisoning. A clear chimney will also improve the burning efficiency of the appliance.

Stove Servicing

Many stove owners are unaware of the basic requirements needed to ensure their appliances continue to run safely and efficiently. Manufacturers and solid fuel associations recommend having your wood burner/multi fuel stove serviced by a Hetas approved engineer at least once a year, generally tied in with the annual sweep.

Spare Parts & Accessories

We can provide spare parts and accessories at competitive prices. High quality vermiculite fire bricks and premium Schott Robax ceramic glass cut to size. Stove pipe thermometers are an excellent addition to your stove as they improve efficiency and moisture meters allow you to check that your wood is ready to burn. We also offer a range of cleaning products, stove top fans and companion sets.
